On The Move

Lisa McConnell has been promoted to captain by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and placed in charge of its Southwest Station.

McConnell’s appointment was announced Monday by Riverside County Sheriff Stan Sniff, according to a statement on the department’s website.

A 26-year department veteran, McConnell replaces Jeff Kubel, who was promoted last month.

The Southwest Station provides police service to the unincorporated county communities of De Luz, French Valley, Murrieta Hot Springs, and Pechanga, and to the city of Temecula.

Captain McConnell, who was promoted from lieutenant, will serve as the Temecula’s police chief, according to the statement.
