We’re a Generous Community

By Ed Hoffman

As some of you know, my company and I organized a Push-Ups for Charity fundraiser to raise money for The Boot Campaign, a reputable military charity that provides grants to deserving veterans and their families. Thanks to the support of our colleagues in the mortgage lending community, the Southern California business community at large and our patriotic friends here in the Inland Empire, we raised almost $70,000 for this incredible organization.

Because of this generosity, disabled vets who have lost limbs and suffered from PTSD can receive enough financial support to make a life for themselves and their families – and, the families of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country can receive the financial support they need to go on without their loved ones. For me, that’s why I do what I do on behalf of our veterans.

How incredible is it that simply doing push-ups can raise so much money for a great cause? What’s even more remarkable is how quickly it can be done. When we started the event on Saturday morning, we had already raised about $54,000 through phone and online donations – and by early afternoon, another $15,000 had been raised. Wow! So this week, I want to take the space I have here to personally thank the following individuals and businesses who supported the cause with their donations:

  • Desmond & Louis Public Relations
  • San Bernardino County Public Attorneys Association
  • Superior Concrete
  • Absolute Valuations
  • Hickey Marketing Group
  • Barbie Anderson of AM 590
  • Ed McGrath of Northpointe Bank
  • Moreno Valley Realty
  • Don’s Bicycles
  • Winchester Insurance
  • Freedom Mortgage
  • Fidelity Title
  • Polly Watts of Maxim Properties
  • Citrus Escrow
  • Andrew Spencer of Cal Platinum Appraisals
  • Tom Farmer of MCT Trading
  • Pacific Premier Bank
  • Chicago Title Company
  • Moreno Valley councilwoman LaDonna Jempson
  • David and Kim Caulfield of East Hills Fix Auto Body Repair

Again, thank you to all of these very special people and businesses. I’m not qualified to thank you on behalf of our brave men and women who served, but I definitely want to thank you on behalf of myself and Wholesale Capital Corporation. I also want to thank my employees, who gave approximately $20,000 on their own. Because of this, I matched their donations with another $20,000 on behalf of the company. All in all, I’d say we’re a pretty generous community.
