Library to reopen

The Apple Valley branch of the San Bernardino County Public Library is scheduled to reopen later this month.

The Newton T. Bass Branch Library will get back in business with a ribbon cutting and ceremony at 10 a.m. April 28, according to a statement.

“This will be an outstanding day for Apple Valley,” said Robert Lovingood, chairman of the board of supervisors and an Apple Valley resident, in the statement. “This is a great town with great people, and we’re thanking them for their patience and support with a greatly improved library.”

The building, at 14901 Dale Evans Parkway, was closed three years ago and moved to a temporary location. Since then the structure’s roof truss system was redesigned and replaced, according to the statement.
