Esri, the spatial analytics firm, has been named by Forbes Magazine one of the best companies to work for in the United States.
The Redlands-based company ranked 15th out of 500 midsize businesses, below the University of California, Irvine and above Navigant Consulting in Chicago.
Penguin Random House, the publishing and advertising company in New York, ranked first. Esri and UC Irvine were the only California companies to make the top 25.
Esri was recognized for several factors, including good benefits, work-life balance and its ability to work with colleagues around the world, according to a statement released by the company.
A midsize business is one with 1,000 to 5,000 employees, a large business more than 5,000. More than 30,000 workers were interviewed to produce the best midsize list and best large company list, according to the magazine.
Founded in 1969, Esri employs roughly 3,800 people in more than 75 countries. Its products are used by more than 350,000 entities in the public and private sector.
This is the third consecutive year Esri has made the Forbes midsize list, according to the statement.
