Perris is offering classes for people interested in working in construction.
The three-hour, once-a-week class is scheduled to start Sept. 20 at the Perris Community Adult School, 418 West Ellis Ave., according a statement on the city’s website.
Classes will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays.
Perris, the Perris Union High School District and the International Code Council have partnered to offer the courses.
Students who complete the class will have a leg up on passing the ICC National Residential Building Inspector Certification exam, which can lead to jobs -including plan reviewer, code official, permit technician – that pay more than $80,000 a year, according to the statement.
The partnership follows a similar agreement with Mt. San Jacinto College to bring higher-education academic courses to Perris.
