Rialto has new city administrator

Rod Foster, a former city manager in Colton and Laguna Niguel, has been named Rialto’s city administrator.

Foster, who has more than 35 years experience in professional management, was appointed by a unanimous vote of the city council and is scheduled to take over his new position June 17, according to a statement.

“We are thrilled to have Rod lead our extraordinary city hall team and build on the momentum we have created over the past several years,” Mayor Deborah Robertson said in the statement. “His experience and local knowledge are ideally suited for the opportunities – and challenges –we face moving forward.”

Foster was Upland’s assistant city manager and before that assistant city manager and interim city manager in Hesperia. Most recently, he served as chief of parish operations at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Dana Point.

Foster succeeds Mike Story, who stepped down as Rialto’s city administrator in December 2017.
