Stater Bros. will return to its regular closing time – 11 p.m. – starting today.
Stores will continue to open at 7 a.m., with the first hour reserved exclusively for seniors, according to a statement.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19 began, all 169 Stater Bros. markets have been closing at 9 p.m. The new store hours will remain in effect until further notice.
“We are dedicated to serving our community by offering our valued customers additional time to shop for their essential needs,” said Pete Van Helden, chief executive officer, in the statement.
All Stater Bros. employees will continue to wear face coverings while working and practice social distancing. Plexiglass barriers have been installed at all check stands.
Stater Bros. is the largest private employer in the Inland Empire and the largest family-owned supermarket chain in Southern California. It employs about 18,000 people, according to the statement.
