Cal State University’s Palm Desert campus will award 421 bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees this spring, the most ever handed out in the campus’s 34-year history.
Because if the COVID-19 pandemic, a commencement ceremony will be delayed until such a gathering can be held safely, according to a statement on the university’s website.
“My sincere congratulations to the Palm Desert Campus class of 2020 and their families,” said Jake Zhu, campus dean, in a statement. “I am very proud of our graduates who arrived to the finish line during unprecedented times.”
“They will always be part of the PDC family and I look forward to seeing their achievements and contributions in the future.”
Last year, the Palm Desert campus awarded 394 degrees. The 166-acre campus has more than 1,600 students, according to the statement.
