Riverside provides self-administered COVID-19 test sites

Riverside has opened the first of several COVID-19 testing sites that feature free, self-administered tests.

The tests, which have no contact with another person, were developed by Curative Inc., which has completed more than six million of the tests in 15 states, according to a statement on the city’s website.

A drive-thru test site opened Wednesday at Alessandro Boulevard and Mission Grove Parkway in the Mission Grove Plaza. That will be followed by a mobile van offering tests throughout the city, then another drive-thru site at the La Sierra Senior Center next Wednesday.

A walk-up kiosk is scheduled to open downtown in late November.

Appointments are preferred, but walk-ups are available at all locations. Online appointments and date/time/location information can be found at www.Curative.com. Appointment slots open about three to four days in advance.
