Justin Clifton will be Palm Springs’ next city manager.
Clifton, who is currently Sedona, Ariz.’s city manager, was recently named by the city council to fill the position, according to a statement on the city’s website.
The city’s City Manager Selection Subcommittee has been told to begin negotiating Clifton’s contract, which is expected to be presented to the council at its Feb. 11 meeting.
David Ready will continue to serve as interim city manager until Clifton begins his new position in early April.
“He [Clifton] was selected for his insight into the future of the city, commitment to community engagement, interest in investing in residents and neighborhoods, expertise in economic development, experience in a thriving tourism economy and his strong financial acumen,” said Mayor pro tem Lisa Middleton, a member of the selection subcommittee, in the statement.
