During the next two months, all Stater Bros. supermarkets will participate in the company’s annual “Harvesting Hope in Our Community” campaign, which raises money for local and regional food banks.
The campaign, which began Nov. 1 and runs through Dec. 31, collects donations from shoppers while they’re at the check stand, according to Stater Bros. Charities.
To donate, customers and employees may put loose change into coin canisters, add a $5 donation card during checkout or scan the QR code.
Donations are also being accepted online or by texting STATER to 41444.
“Stater Bros. is committed to strengthening our local communities by investing in local hunger relief organizations and programs,” said Nancy Negrete, chairman, and president of Stater Bros. Charities, in a statement. “Many families are struggling to meet basic needs, and these funds can be the difference between choosing to buy food or pay bills.
“If there is a time to step up and support our neighbors in need, it’s now.”
Community Action Partnership of Kern County, Feeding America of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, FIND Food Bank, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, San Diego County Food Bank, and Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County will receive donations, according to the statement.
