Moreno Valley will hold a Beautify MoVal Community Day of Service Saturday.
The event, scheduled for 8 a.m. to noon, will involve volunteer groups cleaning two parks, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez and the city council are scheduled to participate, along with residents, businesses, and community groups.
“Good things happen when the community comes together,” Gutierrez said in the statement. “I invite you to join me as we pick up our shovels and paintbrushes to enhance two of our most beloved parks.”
Volunteers will meet at Moreno Valley City Hall, 14177 Frederick St., before setting out to spruce up Celebration Park and Towngate Memorial Park.
Park cleanups are a regular event for Moreno Valley. On Aug. 14, hundreds of residents worked on Lasselle Sports Park and Shadow Mountain Park.
