Ana Gonzalez has been named executive director of the Jurupa Valley-based Center for Community Action and Environmental Justice.
Gonzalez was appointed recently by the nonprofit’s board of directors, according to a statement on the organization’s website.
A Rialto resident, Marquez was the organization’s interim executive director for nearly one year and, before that, its finance and administrative director. She has also worked with the South Coast Air Quality Management District and is a former business owner and teacher.
“Ana Gonzalez brings a long-standing history of organizing for social and environmental justice, with a deep passion for improving quality of life,” board President Mitzi Archer said in the statement. “As a dedicated advocate and experienced leader, we trust Ana to lead CCAEJ to new heights.”
Gonzalez replaces Alma Marquez, who was dismissed by the board last year, according to a statement on the environmental organization’s website.
