Stater Bros. has raised more than $1 million for pediatric cancer treatment.
The money, raised by customers and employees, will go to the City of Hope in Duarte, according to a statement on the Stater Bros. website.
This was the second consecutive year customers and employees of the San Bernardino-based supermarket chain raised money by purchasing $1 and $5 mobiles at checkout stands.
“We are grateful we can count on the support of our customers and teammates. Their compassion and generosity is the driving force behind these fundraising efforts,” said Nancy Negrette, chairman and president of Stater Bros. Charities in the statement. “Thanks to them, we can help City of Hope advance the fight against pediatric cancer and provide hope to these brave young fighters and their families.”
This year’s Kids4Hope campaign raised nearly $618,000, including more than $20,500 at a store in Murrieta, according to the statement.
