Plans have been approved for the construction of a building at the UC Riverside School of Business.
The building, which will cover 63,400 square feet, was approved July 20 by the UC Board of Regents, according to a statement on the UC Riverside website.
It is expected to be up and running by the fall of 2024.
The four-story structure will include classrooms, a 350-seat auditorium, a computer lab, a recording studio for lectures and podcasts, a student lounge and faculty and administrative offices.
“We are so very pleased to be given the approval by the UC Regents to move forward with our new school of business building,” said Yunzeng Wang, the school’s dean, in the statement. “This is the cornerstone in our plan to grow the business school through new faculty, increased enrollment, and additional staff.”
Most of the business school operates out of Anderson Hall, one of the oldest buildings on campus.
Between 2015 and 2021, the business school’s enrollment has grown by 58 percent to 2,100 students, according to the statement.
