An Orange County developer plans to build a 100,000-square-foot industrial building in Perris.
The structure will be developed at Ramona Expressway and Brennan Avenue without a signed tenant, according to Westport Properties Inc. in Irvine.
Construction is expected to start during the third quarter of 2023 and be completed in one year. Lee & Associates Riverside will market the building, which will be designed for one tenant.
“As e-commerce and the industrial industry continues to grow, we remain bullish on developing and managing properties in desirable submarkets with great fundamentals like Perris,” said Charles Byerly, Westport Properties’ chief executive officer, in the statement. “The Inland Empire is a market of tremendous interest to Westport.”
Westport Properties develops, owns and operates industrial, self storage and multifamily projects nationwide. Its total assets are approximately $2.7 billon, according to the statement.
Why are we building more warehouses? Perris is becoming a concrete jungle with trucks and traffic. You can’t get to your intersections without waiting for a long line of trucks. They damage the streets and bring pollution. Why aren’t we building hotels, a target store, Upscale restaurants. A decent shopping mall. We should have a entertainment center.
You are completely right. Meanwhile we all keep having lung issues with so much dust coming from construction places
Does the city or county do an environmental impact? What about the impact on the freeways? The freeways and major streets can’t take the traffic now as it is. The traffic is affecting the lives of all the residents in the area. What government agency is watching out for the residents?
