Victorville has nearly $2 million available for community development projects for the 2023-2024 fiscal year, which starts July 1.
That funding is provided by the Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnerships, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Both programs are administered by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development. Victorville receives money from that agency, then distributes to nonprofits and service programs.
The block grant funding is used to provide shelter and expand economic opportunities for low-to-moderate-income individuals, while the HOME funds are used exclusively to provide housing.
City staff will hold three technical assistance workshops to help prepare applications. Parties interested in applying must attend at least one those workshops. Original, hard copies of the application must be returned to the planning department by mail, courier, or in person no later than 3 p.m. Jan. 20.
More information can be found on the City’s website at vv.city/nofa.
