The Inland Empire’s population is expected to grow by 20 percent during the next 25 years, a state agency is predicting.
If that forecast proves to be accurate, the combined population of Riverside and San Bernardino counties today – 4.7 million – will increase to approximately 5.5 million people, according to a recent report by the California Department of Finance.
Riverside County will go from 2.5 million to three million residents, while San Bernardino County’s population is expected to rise from 2.2 million to 2.6 million residents.
California’s population will rise by about three million between now and 2048, the finance department predicted.
