Aug. 4 is the final day to register for the annual Southern California Water Conference, scheduled to be held Friday, Aug. 11 at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario.
This year’s theme, “Responding to Water Extremes,” will examine how the region might deal with a future of severe winter storms followed by dry conditions, and how it can meet its water demands while solving its housing crisis.
Dr. Marty Ralph, director of the Center for Western Weather and Water Extremes at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego will be the keynote speaker.
The conference, which attracts officials from the public and private sectors, is being sponsored by the San Bernardino County Chapter of the Building Industry Association of Southern California. The conference will begin at 7 a.m, with networking and a continental breakfast, with speakers to run from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
