Ontario’s yearly celebration of vintage automobiles is scheduled to be held this weekend.
The Route 66 Cruisin’ Reunion will take place Sept. 15-16, taking up a 22-square block of downtown filled with vendors, rides, and live music and a stretch of Euclid Avenue filled with hot rods.
More than 1,000 vehicles are expected to participate this year, and a 75-foot Ferris wheel a children’s fun zone, and several interactive displays will be set up near Ontario Town Square, according to GoCal, the event’s sponsors.
Food from local residents will be available, and live entertainment will include Ozomatli on Sept. 15 and Grammy-winning singer Thelma Houston on Sept. 16.
The Route 66 Cruisin’. Reunion, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, is free and open to the public. Hours are 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. – 11 p.m. Saturday.
Anyone interested in registering a classic may do so in person at the Ontario Convention Center for $75. Registration hours 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.
