Riverside County has opened a fire station in North Shore, an unincorporated community next to the Salton Sea.
Located at 99-054 Sea View Dr., North Shore Fire Station 41 replaces the station that has served that part of southeast Riverside County since 1964, according to a statement on the county’s website.
A grand opening ceremony was held on Dec. 2.
Called “state of the art” by Supervisor V. Manuel Perez, Fire Station 41 is the first station built in any of the county’s unincorporated communities in more than 10 years.
“Our firefighters are our first responders, they take care of our communities,” Perez said in the statement. “We need to make sure we take care of them as well.
The county’s Facilities Management Department developed Fire Station 41 for $11.1 million. It includes living quarters, a kitchen, bedrooms, and extra restrooms, according to the statement.
