DiLullo does it again at Grand National Roadster Show

This time, winning 1st Place for Domestic Sports Restored Performance Car

Mark DiLullo, owner of local business, Threshold Aviation Group and car enthusiast won again this past weekend at the “Grand Daddy” of all car shows, the 74th Grand National Roadster Show held at the Los Angeles County Fairgrounds in Pomona. This marks the third consecutive year the team at Threshold has placed first or second.

One might wonder what the connection is between an aviation company and classic Corvette restoration and rebuilds, and the answer is it runs in the family and both disciplines require a high-level of organization and skill.

“My father collected Corvettes, and when I was younger, my dad and I were always around Corvettes fixing, maintaining, restoring, driving, and showing,” said Mark DiLullo, Owner of Threshold Aviation Group. “Corvettes are a part of my earliest memories and have always been my favorite hobby.”

The car they entered this year was a 1966 427 425 Horsepower Corvette Roadster Convertible that has been in the DiLullo collection since 1977.

The 427 was a high-performance vehicle when it was released in 1966, relatively few were sold. It’s appearance also lends to the vehicle’s rarity because its non-traditional look compared to other high-performance vehicles.  It has a conservative-looking silver pearl exterior with a black leather interior. Additionally, it is equipped with knockoff wheels, side exhaust, 4.10 rear-axle ratio and 4 speed transmission.

“Most of the time, vehicles like these would sport a “pull me over red” paint job, rather than this more conservative looking silver color scheme,” said DiLullo. “The car has extensive documentation including the original Chevrolet affixed window sticker from 1966.”

Though the vehicle was restored some time ago, this was the first time it has been shown.

DiLullo is a military-trained Pilot like his father, and both share a love for Corvettes. Between them, they own 15 show-quality Corvettes.
