On The Move

A retired U.S. Naval lieutenant has been named director of Riverside National Cemetery.

Pete Young will be responsible for all administrative, burial and maintenance operations at Riverside National, the country’s third-largest national cemetery, according to a statement released Wednesday.

Young has worked at several national cemeteries and has been director of the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elgin, Ill. since last November.

He also worked as chief of operations for the National Cemetery Association’s Memorial Service Network 1 in Philadelphia, where he assisted in the operation of 33 national cemeteries, 12 soldier’s lots, government lots and several Confederate lots, according to the statement.

Young replaces Dean Moline, who left Riverside to take over Tahoma National Cemetery in Washington.
