Charter Communications is closing an Ontario call center, a move expected to eliminate about 450 jobs within the next two months.
The telecommunications company recently told the state Employment Development Department that it will permanently shut down its call center at 1260 S Dupont Ave., according to multiple reports.
No explanation was given. Most of the jobs at the Dupont Avenue facility are reportedly in customer service and will be moved to other U.S. call centers.
Charter Communications provides cable television and Internet service throughout much of Southern California, including the Inland Empire. It has more than 32 million customers in 41 states, according to the company’s website.
