Riverside County Supervisor Yxstian Gutierrez has been named vice chair of the National Association of Counties’ Immigration Reform Task Force.
Appointed by James Gore, the association’s president, Gutierrez will serve a one-year term, according to a statement on Riverside County’s website.
“It is an honor to be appointed as a Vice Chair for the NACo’s Immigration Reform Task Force and work with local leaders to foster a robust, fair, and inclusive immigration system,” Gutierrez said in the statement
The association, better known as NACo, is based in Washington, D.C. It provides a forum for nearly 40,000 county elected officials and 3.6 million county employees nationwide, according to the association’s website.
