RCC building undergoes major renovation

The former Physical & Life Science Buildings at Riverside City College has been converted into the school’s Business, Law, and Computer Information Systems Building.

C.W. Driver Cos. a Pasadena-based general contracting and construction firm, recently completed the $29.3 million renovation of the two buildings, according to a company statement.

The structures, which have been in use since the 1960s, were previously separate but are now connected. Structural changes include interior demolitions, new classrooms, conference rooms, computer labs, testing centers, and a multipurpose room.

The renovation, which took 18 months to complete, is C.W. Driver’s second project with the Riverside Community College District. It previously worked on the Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center at Moreno Valley College.

Riverside City College serves an approximately 30,000 full and part-time students annually, and offers more than 100 study programs. It is the largest of the three schools in the Riverside Community College District, according to the school’s website.
