Justin Clifton has been named Murrieta’s city manager.
Clifton, who joined the city as assistant city manager earlier this year, will replace Kim Summers when she retires in January after seven years on the job, according to multiple reports.
“I am thrilled to take on the role as city manager,” Clifton said in a statement. “I’m excited to work in the community my family and I love, and to be part of such an amazing team. I’m committed to accomplishing the vision set forth by our city council, and working hard to continue to make Murrieta better for our residents.”
Clifton has 15 years’ worth of city manager experience in various cities, including Palm Springs.
