William Gallardo has been named San Bernardino’s interim city manager.
The former Brea city manager was approved unanimously during special council meeting Feb. 21, according to a statement released by the city.
Gallardo will serve in the position while a search for a permanent city manager is conducted. Acting City Manager Tanya Romo has returned to the role of deputy city manager.
“Bringing Bill Gallardo on board will ensure a smooth transition while the Council and I take the next steps to find our next city manager,” said Mayor Helen Tran in the statement.
A San Bernardino resident, Gallardo worked in Brea for 35 years, including 10 years as city manager until he retired in December, according to the statement.
