Due to an expired lease, Riverside will move its Eastside branch library.
The SPC. Jesus S. Duran Eastside Library will leave a Chicago Avenue commercial center and set up residence at the community center at Lincoln Park, according to a statement on the city’s website.
The library’s lease at 4033-C Chicago Ave. will end soon. It is scheduled to cease operations there April 11, and will remain in its new location until a permanent building is built at Bobby Bonds Park, 2300 University Ave.
That facility, which is estimated to cost $20 million, is expected to open next year. An exact date has not been announced.
The Lincoln Park site will be open from 9:30 to 1 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and Sunday. Its Mobile Library will appear at various parks and Ward Two communities every day of the week except Monday, according to the statement.
