Perris has broken ground on what will be the city’s first Target store.
The store is being built at 1688 N. Perris Blvd., in the Plaza de Perris Shopping Center, according a statement on the city’s website.
Perris Mayor Michael M. Vargas, City Manager Clara Miramontes, Planning Commission Chair Dwayne Hammond, and Perris Valley Chamber of Commerce President Jerry Sepulveda, were among those who attend the recent groundbreaking ceremony hosted by the city.
“It’s been a pleasure working with the City of Perris on this project,” said Patrick M. Wood, president and chief executive officer of Wood Investments Companies, Inc., the project’s developer, in a statement.
”Over the past five years, we’ve faced our share of challenges, but we’ve pushed through together. We’re grateful for Target’s investment in this community.”
The project was announced in January. An opening date has not been released.
