Moreno Valley has been recognized by the Southern California Association of Governments for “EVolution Moreno Valley,” its fleet of zero-emission vehicles.
The city recently won a Sustainability Award in the association’s Clean Cities: Alternative Fuels and Fleets category, according to a statement on Moreno Valley’s website.
“We are honored to receive this recognition from SCAG,” said Mayor Ulises Cabrera in the statement. “The EVolution Moreno Valley program reflects our commitment to environmental leadership and innovation.”
EVolution has been paid for in part by the state’s Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project program. During that program’s next phase, Moreno Valley plans to expand its electric fleet and improve its charging stations to help future growth, according to the statement.
