Ontario International Airport had a great July.
681,912 passengers used the airport last month, a record for the seventh month of the year and a 2.3 percent year-over-year increase, according to a statement on Ontario International’s website.
That number included 624,959 domestic fliers, a decrease of 0.7 percent, and 56,954 international travelers, a 53 percent increase. The jump in international travel was caused in part by Volaris adding nonstop service from Ontario International to three destinations in Mexico.
Ontario International’s previous record for international travel was set in June, when STARLUX Airlines began nonstop service to Taipei, Taiwan.
During the first seven months of 2025, more than four million passengers passed through Ontario International, a 1.1 percent increase compared with the same period in 2024. During that time, domestic passengers rose by 0.5 percent, to 3.7 million, while international travel increased by nine percent, to nearly 295,000, according to the statement.
