Riverside University trauma center receives level one designation

Adolescent health unit opens

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center has opened an adolescent behavioral health unit.

The facility, which began operations this month, offers separate care for adolescent patients, according to a statement on Arrowhead Regional’s website.

The behavioral health unit officially opened Aug. 7 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by Andrew Goldfrach, Arrowhead Regional’s chief executive officer.

It includes California’s first adolescent behavioral health emergency room. It also provides inpatient therapy groups meant to encourage comprehensive healing.

Arrowhead Regional is a 70-acre campus in Colton. The 456-bed teaching hospital is operated by San Bernardino County and governed by the board of supervisors.

The adolescent project is the result of a collaboration between several agencies, including Arrowhead Regional, the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors, and the County Administrative Office, according the statement.
