A Walmart Neighborhood Market is closing its doors permanently next month.
The store at 859 W. Florida Ave. in Hemet is scheduled to close its doors Oct. 2, according to a company statement.
Walmart will continue to operate two super-centers nearby, at 1231 Sanderson Ave. in Hemet and 1861 S. San Jacinto Ave. in San Jacinto.
The Pharmacy will work with current patients to transfer prescriptions to other Walmart locations or another pharmacy of their choosing.
A neighborhood market typically is a grocery store that covers 40,000 square feet, compared with a super-center, which covers 200,000 square feet. A neighborhood market sells fresh produce, packaged meat, frozen foods, dairy products, and dry grocery products.
