Menifee Mayor Ricky Estrada has returned to the city after serving a six-month overseas military assignment.
“It is great to be back home and in our beautiful country,” said Estrada, a U.S Air Force reservist, in a statement on the city’s website. “It’s important I thank all of you who reached out and shared your moral support with me while I was away. Your encouragement and support helped keep the fight going.”
Estrada conducted the May 6 council meeting, his first meeting since returning.
“We are thankful for the Mayor’s safe return and appreciate his service to our country,” said Mayor Pro Tem Bob Karwin, who served as the acting mayor during Mayor Estrada’s military deployment, in the statement.”
