Travis Smith will be UC Riverside’s next vice chancellor for development and alumni engagement.
Smith, who is now the University of Minnesota Foundation’s vice president for central development, must still be confirmed by the UC Riverside Foundation board, according to a statement on UC Riverside’s website.
He will also become president of the UCR Foundation following his confirmation.
“With Travis’s appointment, we have fully realized our ambition of hiring a top-tier development leader who comes to us with a national fund-raising profile,” said Chancellor S. Jack Hu in the statement.
During his time at Minnesota, Smith helped lead a $4.4 billion fundraising campaign. He is scheduled to begin work at UCR July 6.
