ONT Field is now officially called ONT Field.
The Ontario International Airport Authority has formally approved its stadium naming rights agreement with the Ontario Tower Buzzers, the Single-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to a statement on the airport’s website.
The Tower Buzzers began playing in the new 6,000-seat facility in the spring. It’s part of the Ontario Sports Empire, a 199-acre regional sports complex that is under construction near Riverside Drive and Vineyard Avenue in the south part of the city,
The stadium is divided into four aviation-themed neighborhoods and has a front entrance that is designed to look like an airline terminal.
“ONT Field represents the spirit of our region,” said Alan D. Wapner, the authority’s board president, in the statement. “We are proud that the name of our airport is associated with a venue that brings people together for baseball, concerts, festivals and community celebrations.”
