A Moreno Valley deputy city attorney who is suing the city over his recent termination has returned to work for the city.
Paul Early returned to his former job two weeks ago shortly after Moreno Valley officials offered to reinstate him, according to a report in The Press-Enterprise.
Early, who was first hired by the city on 2007, alleges he was fired in March of last year for enforcing code enforcement committed by a former city council.
City officials say Early and several other employees were let go because of budget cuts, and Early’s name was on a list of former workers who could be rehired when funding allowed, the report stated.
Early is still seeking damages from the city. His trial is scheduled to start in February.
