Palm Springs International Airport continued to be a major economic driver in the Coachella Valley in 2025, a recent study has found.
The airport pumped approximately $2.5 billion into the regional economy while supporting 16,600 jobs, according to a report released by the airport.
About 97 percent of Palm Spring International’s economic output last year happened in the Coachella Valley, the report stated.
“Palm Springs International is one of the Coachella Valley’s most important economic engines,” said Victoria Carpenter, the airport’s interim executive director of aviation, in the statement. “We are fueling jobs, local businesses and opportunity in the Coachella Valley.”
The airport accommodated more than 3.3 million passengers in 2025 and offered nonstop service to 34 destinations across the United States and Canada, a record for the city-owned airport.
Travelers who used Palm Springs International last year spent about $1.1 billion in the Coachella Valley, while the airport generated $871 million in labor income and contributed $1.5 billion to the regional GDP, the report found.
