Ontario Chief of Police Eric Hopley has retired.
Hopley, who has served with the department for more than 30 years, is being replaced by Brad Kaylor, the department’s deputy chief, according to a report in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.
At Tuesday’s city council meeting, Hopley was presented with a key to the city and received testimonials from the city manager, council members and staff.
Hopley thanked the department and expressed confidence in his successor Kaylor, who was sworn in during the meeting, according to the report.
