State Sen. Connie Leyva has been named Democratic Caucus Chair for the 2015-2016 regular legislative session.
Leyva, D-Chino, was appointed by Senate President pro Tempore Kevin de Leon, D-Los Angeles, according to a report in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.
Committee chairs will be formally adopted Jan. 7 by the Senate Rules Committee, the report stated.
