Janet Lucas, an athletic administrator at UC Riverside for the past nine years, has been named the 2015 NCAA Division I Administrator of the Year by the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators.
Lucas, who is currently executive associate athletic director and senior women’s administrator, became UC Riverside’s interim athletic director last fall when Jim Wooldridge stepped down, according to a report in The Press-Enterprise.
Lucas, who ran the athletic department with a reduced staff, will be recognized Oct. 13 in Tampa, Fla. at the 2015 Administrator of the Year Luncheon. That event is held along with the NACWAA National Convention.
Earlier this month, Tamica Smith Jones was named the school’s permanent athletic director.
