Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM590 with host Ed Hoffman as he discusses national current events and politics, with a few mortgage tips along the way. Ed delivers intelligent, entertaining radio that makes hard news easy to understand!

This week, Ed starts the show by talking about job creation, the economy and government regulation. If these are things you’re concerned about, you need to tune in! Then, Ed reveals which presidential candidate just passed a law designed to make strides for preserving the right to life for the unborn in his state. Tune in to find out more.

Next, Ed talks with former Sergeant Joey Jones of The Boot Campaign. Now that Ed’s Push-Ups for Charity fundraiser raised $70,452 for the organization, he is speaking to Sergeant Jones about where the money goes. Jones explains that The Boot Campaign uses the money raised for direct support to veterans, whether they have been wounded physically and lost limbs or are suffering emotionally from PTSD; one of the campaign’s support efforts is job placement.

“We get them back in jobs and training so they can provide for their families and have something to work towards,” Jones said. “When people are supposed to be in college and learning life lessons, these guys and gals are out fighting wars. They’re learning skills, but they’re a different kind of skills.” By helping veterans with job placement, counseling and direct financial support, The Boot Campaign puts them on the path toward healing. They are also working with The Patriot League, an organization that helps families teach their children the importance of patriotism – a cause Ed is very passionate about. Ed wants the audience to know there’s still time to do a Push-Ups for Charity event anywhere in the country, anytime between now and the Final Push event at the Lincoln Memorial on September 19.

In the second half, Ed brings up Donald Trump: “One of the candidates said that being on a debate stage with Trump would be like being in a NASCAR race with a drunk driver,” Ed says, “and I think that’s unfair. He’s not the polished politician, but I think everyone’s ready for that. He’s been unfairly beaten up by the media.” Ed plays audio from a speech in Iowa this week, where Trump shows his softer, more humane side while discussing the murders of Kate Steinle in San Francisco and high school football player Jamiel Shaw here in Southern California. Both were killed by illegal immigrants, and Trump talks about meeting with their grieving families. If you want to hear a different side of Trump, you don’t want to miss it. This is something you haven’t seen on the news!

Ed also discusses Juan Emmanuel Razo, the criminal alien who has been freed multiple times even after raping a 14-year-old family member, and then killed a 60-year-old woman while running from police. The judge said, “I can’t set a bond high enough,” and asked because of this man’s illegal status, “How do I even know it’s him?” Ed agrees, and he has a lot to say about illegal immigration that you don’t want to miss.
