Moreno Valley’s television station has won one national and 10 region cable television awards.
The National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors gave MVTV-3 its highest honor in the category of public service announcements, according to a statement posted on the city’s website.
The association gave out that award during its national conference, which was held recently in San Diego.
MVTV-3 also won 10 awards in various categories at the association’s 2015 Star Awards, which were held in Santa Monica.
“Our MVTV-3 provides outstanding service to the Moreno Valley community,” City Manager Michelle Dawson said in the statement. “It is particularly gratifying to see their hard work recognized by their professional peers.”
The station won the first place award for “Recycle Camp,” a joint project it undertook with Rancho Verde High School football team. The video encouraged residents to “join the recycling elite” by disposing of materials in the proper cart, according to the statement.
