Gas prices continued to drop this week.
Statewide, one gallon of regular gasoline sold for an average of $3.04, down from $3.14 last week and $3.49 one month ago, according to AAA’s Daily Fuel Gauge Report.
The national average was $2.28, down four cents during the past week and 33 cents during the past month, according to the fuel gauge, an online breakdown of gasoline price throughout the United States.
Gas prices in the Inland Empire also continued to fall: its average of $3.10 for a gallon of regular was down from $3.24 last week and $3.65 one month, AAA reported.
California is routinely among the highest gas prices in the United States, in part because of its 30 cents a gallon excise tax that all drivers must pay whenever they fill their tanks.
