Passenger traffic at Ontario International Airport rose slightly in September, according to data released Tuesday.

Overall traffic was up 1.64 percent year-over-year, as the airport served more than 341,000 passengers last month, Los Angeles World Airports stated in its monthly report on passenger volume at the airport.

Much of that growth came in international traffic, which continued its strong rate of growth last month: AeroMexico and Volaris, the airport’s two international carriers, served more than 7,800 passengers during that time, a 6.6 percent increase compared with September 2014, according to LAWA.

“September reflects continued passenger traffic growth in 2015,” said Jess Romo, airport manager, in a statement. “This, along with strong and sustained cargo growth, is a reflection of the airline industry’s improved performance nationally and internationally.”
