Former Col. Russell A. Muncy has been promoted to brigadier general.
Muncy, commander of the 452nd Air Mobility Wing at March Air Reserve Base in Riverside County, was officially promoted last month, according to a report in The Press-Enterprise.
A formal pin ceremony is expected to be held in January.
Muncy, a 1983 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, is responsible for more than 4,000 personnel. He also directs the support of worldwide airlift and air refueling operations and oversees day-to-day operations at March Air Reserve Base, according to his official biography.
