Lustro, who spent 15 years with Montclair and nearly 25 years in planning and community development, stepped down Thursday, according to a statement on the city’s website.
A Cal Poly Pomona graduate, Lustro worked for the city of Claremont for eight years before moving to Montclair in 2000.
He served as Montclair’s city planner for seven years before being promoted to community development director, according to an online autobiography Lustro provided to smartvoter.org.
Lustro is a member of the American Planning Association and the American Institute of Certified Planners. His statement did not say why he is retiring.
