Riverside City Councilman Paul Davis has been named president of the Riverside County Division of the League of California Cities.
Davis, who was elected to the council in 2009 and reelected in 2013, was appointed Monday during a division meeting in Cathedral City, according to a statement on the city’s website.
“I’m excited to bring my experience and background to the leadership of this organization that does so much for cities around our county,” Davis said in the statement. “Riverside County is a large and diverse place, and the League’s local division plays a strong role in educating and unifying elected representatives from Corona to Blythe.”
Davis previously served as second vice president of the local division, and he has served on one of the league’s legislative committees, according to the statement.
The non-profit League of California Cities is based in Sacramento. It advocates for cities throughout California.
