SB begins process for fine arts grants

San Bernardino’s Fine Arts Commission is accepting applications for arts grants that will be distributed during the 2017-’18 fiscal year.

The grant application can be found at SBCity.org/Arts, according to a statement.

Applications are due no later Feb. 17.

Fine arts grants are used for art and cultural programs throughout the city that are determined to have benefit and interest to a wide segment of the population. They’re paid for with cultural development construct fees and are available to nonprofit arts organizations, parks and recreation community centers and classroom teachers.

The commission will hold information sessions for applicants at 4 p.m. on Jan. 26 and Jan. 31 in the sixth floor conference center at San Bernardino City Hall. The commission distributed $194,000 in grants during the current fiscal year, according to the statement.
